Director of Syllabus

Rebecca Maciejczyk has been teaching classical ballet for Nittany Ballet, part of Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania (PASCP), since 2007, and for Penn State Musical Theatre since 2017. Rebecca served as Artistic Director of PASCP from 2012 through spring of 2019. She has trained dancers who have been accepted to programs with School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Washington Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell, Bolshoi Ballet, Ballet Magnificat!, Chautauqua Institution and others. As Artistic Director, Rebecca arranged two major productions annually, in addition to smaller-scale performances throughout the year, for which she choreographed and set new and existing works on students and guest artists. Rebecca also played a crucial role in establishing opportunities for the local community to experience dance performance through PASCP. 

Rebecca trained with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary. During this time, she was coached by permanent and guest teachers including Richard Cook, Leslie Hench, Darla Hoover, Melinda Jones Howe, Lisa de Ribere, Violette Verdy, Gennadi Vostrikov and Deborah Wingert, among others. She studied ballet and modern dance with Washington School of Ballet and Delaware Dance Co. Rebecca danced principal roles with both CPYB and Delaware Dance Co. and has performed various principal and ensemble roles with Virginia Opera, Virginia Musical Theatre and Theatre Harrisburg. Local theater credits include performances with FUSE Productions and State College Community Theatre, as well as choreography for SCCT. Professionally, Rebecca has attended the CPYB Summer Teacher Training Seminar, the Peabody Conservatory Teachers Seminar, and observes master classes with various professional ballet companies. Rebecca received a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science from Penn State University and lives in Boalsburg with her husband and 2 children.
